We have reached the stage of discombobulation, that period of time where everything is up in the air, not quite right and a little ‘off’. This is the first full week for us since the holidays, all of our guests have gone, the house is half packed and in disarray and the new house has no floors and walls. So you know…situation normal. I also had a terrible stomach flu over the weekend which really added to my frustration of so much to do and no time to do it.
The demolition has gone well, in the main living areas all the floor is up, the moldings are off and salvaged to be stripped and cleaned, and the damaged walls are being dry walled in, the green room that will be LJ’s room is being prepped for paint and primer, and the carpet and new flooring has been purchased. Also the washing machine and dryer are being delivered today, which is brilliant for two reasons. 1, there isn’t one at the new house and 2, the one in the rental broke this morning, its like it knew it was being replaced!
Writing it down is a really great way for me to realize how much we have achieved in two weeks. I’m a visual person and sometimes not being able to see change makes me feel there isn’t any. I am certainly not a patient person, sometimes I struggle with that, its one of my less appealing qualities, I’m working on it but writing down a list of all the things means I can ‘see’ what we have achieved.
This week will be more of the same. Just keep plugging away at it I guess!
